Celina, OH – Former City Council President and At-Large Council Member Bill Sell has officially announced his candidacy for Celina City Council – Ward 1, reaffirming his deep commitment to the community he has served for decades. With a proven track record in public service, Sell is stepping forward once again to tackle the critical issues facing Celina and advocate for transparent, responsible, and forward-thinking leadership.

“I’m running for Celina City Council because I care deeply about this city and its people,” said Sell. “Celina deserves strong leadership that prioritizes public safety, economic growth, and a high quality of life for all residents.”

A key concern for Sell is retaining and supporting Celina’s first responders. With the city losing police officers and firefighters to larger communities offering higher salaries, he is calling for a comprehensive review of Celina’s police and fire budgets compared to similar-sized cities. His goal is to ensure Celina remains competitive in recruiting and retaining the dedicated professionals who keep the community safe.

Sell also recently learned that Celina City Council denied a health care facility’s request to establish a location in the city— a decision he believes fails to serve the best interests of residents.

“We should always put the well-being of our citizens first. Competition lowers cost and raises quality.” Sell stated.

A graduate of Ohio University, Sell brings decades of leadership experience to the race. From 1998 to 2015, he served as Council President and At-Large Council Member, helping to guide Celina’s growth and development. Additionally, he has served multiple terms on the Celina Board of Education, including as president, and taught at Celina Schools for 35 years, where he also coached multiple sports. His lifelong dedication to education and public service has shaped the city’s progress, and he is eager to continue that work.

“I would be honored to serve Celina once again,” said Sell. “This is my home, and I will always fight for what’s best for our community.”
