Several area fire departments were called to a house fire at 3198 US 33 in Wilshire in Van Wert County Tuesday morning just after 11 am. According to reports, The Willshire, Wren, Rockford, Ohio City and Chattanooga fire departments responded. Firefighters battled bitter cold temperatures to control the fire. No one was injured however the home was a total loss and a family pet perished in the fire. A damage estimate and a cause for the fire is not known at this time.
