King Announces State Funding Coming to District
Funding will be used to support ODNR, DoDD projects
COLUMBUS - State Representative Angie King (R-Celina) announces the Ohio Controlling Board will release more than $440,000 in state funding to support local projects in the 84th House District.
The Ohio Controlling Board will release $53,000 to the Ohio Department of Natural Resources. These funds will be used to replace the aging boardwalk at Shawnee Prairie Preserve, which is part of the Darke County Park District. Franklin Township will receive more than $31,000 to replace playground equipment at Zuma Park.
“I am pleased that our district is receiving state funding that will have a direct impact on those who need it most,” said King.
The remaining $387,000 will be released to the Department of Developmental Disabilities to develop community housing for people with complex care needs. The funding will be used to renovate and expand access to the program through eight projects in Mercer County and one in Auglaize County.
The Ohio Controlling Board is the financial legislative oversight for capital and operating expenditures by state agencies. The next controlling board meeting is scheduled for Feb. 3.
