On January 3, 2025 at approximately 2:59 a.m. Darke County Deputies conducted a traffic stop on a 2001 Dodge Truck after observing it not being able to maintain its lane of travel. Upon speaking to the driver and sole occupant, Steven Black (55) of New Lebanon, Ohio, criminal indicators were observed. A Darke County Sheriff’s Office K-9 was deployed to conduct a free air sniff of the vehicle which rendered a positive alert. A search of the truck was conducted where Deputies located a substantial amount of suspected methamphetamine and various other pills.

 

Mr. Black was ultimately placed under arrest for the following offenses;

Possession of methamphetamine - Felony 2

Obstructing Official Business – Misdemeanor 2
