CRUMBLING BRICK AND OUTDATED APPLIANCES ARE JUST A COUPLE OF THE REASONS THAT BOWLING GREEN'S FIRE AND POLICE DEPARTMENTS ARE ASKING FOR BUILDING UPGRADES. THE GOAL IS TO KEEP THE POLICE STATION'S HISTORIC BUILDING AND JUST MAKE RENOVATIONS TO IMPROVE OPERATIONS. MEANTIME A DESIGN FIRM IS RECOMMENDING DECOMMISSIONING THE FIRE STATION AND REPLACING IT WITH A STATION MORE TO THE NORTH AND A SECOND ONE TO THE SOUTHEAST. THIS AS THE DEPARTMENT IS SEEING MORE CALLS PER YEAR BUT THE DEPUTY FIRE CHIEF SAYS RESPONSE TIMES AREN'T FAST ENOUGH. BUT HAVING THREE STATIONS IT'S PROJECTED MORE OF THE CITY WOULD BE IN 4-MINUTE RESPONSE TIME AREAS. ALL OF THESE CHANGES ARE JUST PROPOSALS. WITHIN THE FIRST FEW MONTHS OF 20-25 - THE GOAL IS TO HAVE MORE DEVELOPED RENDERINGS AND BETTER COST ESTIMATES TO BRING TO CITY COUNCIL.
