Ohio Jobless Claims for Sunday, November 10, 2024, through Saturday, November 16, 2024

This week, the Ohio Department of Job and Family Services (ODJFS) provided updated data on unemployment claims filed in Ohio the week of November 10-November 16, 2024. These statistics were shared with the U.S. Department of Labor.

Ohioans filed 6,614 initial unemployment claims last week, which was 1,151 less than the previous week. Approximately 817 of those have been flagged for more stringent identity verification, to ensure they are not fraudulent.

Ohioans filed 46,557 continued unemployment claims last week, which was 575 more than the previous week.

The total number of claims filed from November 10-November 16, 2024, was 53,171.

Ohio’s unemployment rate in October was 4.3%. The national unemployment rate in October was 4.1%. Ohio’s labor force participation rate in October was 62.5%. The national labor force participation rate in October was 62.6%.

ODJFS works in partnership with local workforce development boards and local staff to provide employment and training services at 88 OhioMeansJobs centers throughout the state.
