Celina woman arrested on drug charges


Celina, OH – Mercer County Sheriff Jeff Grey reports the arrest of an individual yesterday on drug related charges.  On Wednesday, November 20th at 1:20 PM a deputy of the Mercer County Sheriff’s Office stopped a vehicle for a traffic violation.  Information obtained from the traffic stop lead to the application of a search warrant.

 

Deputies were assisted by Mercer County Prosecutor Erin Minor in applying for the search warrant, which was later reviewed and granted by Celina Municipal Court Judge Kathryn Speelman.

 

Deputies executed the search warrant at  809 Sycamore Street Celina, Ohio at 3:44 PM.  During the search of the residence, several grams of suspected methamphetamines and drug paraphernalia were located. Arrested was Shayla R Prater (33) of 809 Sycamore St Celina.  Prater, who was out of jail on OR bond for a previous charge of Possession of Drugs from May of 2024,  was charged with an additional charge of  Possession of Drugs a Felony of the 5th degree.  Prater was booked in to the Mercer County Adult Detention Facility without incident, and is currently being held on no bond. 

 

The Mercer County Sheriff’s Office was also assisted by members of the Grand Lake Drug Task Force.  The case will be sent to the Mercer County Prosecutors Office once completed for review of any additional charges.
