Former Celina resident seriously injured in a Logan County Accident

Serious Injury Crash in Logan County
Stokes Township – The Marysville Post of the Ohio State Highway Patrol is currently
investigating a two-vehicle serious injury crash. The crash occurred at approximately 2:07
PM on US 33 near Mile Post 3 in Logan County.
A 2014 Hyundai Santa Fe operated by Lavern L. Schroyer, age 70 of Marysville was
traveling southeast on US 33. A 2009 Kenworth tractor and trailer operated by David S.
Jones, age 51 of Galloway was stopped on US 33 due to a previous crash. Mr. Schroyer
failed to come to a stop in time and struck Mr. Jone s from the rear.
Mr. Jones did not report any injuries from the crash . Mr Schroyer was transported to
Miami Valley Hospital with life threatening injuries by Indian Lake E.M.S.
The Ohio State Highway Patrol was assisted at the scene by the Logan County Sheriff’s
Office, Washington Township Police Department , Indian Joint Fire Department, Lakeview
Fire Department, Lakeview Emergency Medical Services, Wren’s Towing, Englewood
Towing, and Logan County O.D.O.T.
All assisting agencies and services were instrumental with the scene investigation and
clearing of the scene.
Alcohol is not suspected to be a factor in the crash and all occupants were found to be
wearing their safety belts.
The Patrol reminds motorists to be vigilant when operating a motor vehicle
