The following is a statement from the Mercer County Sheriff's Office:

44 year old Kimo Bechtol of Fort Recovery was Northbound on SR 49 near Fox Road. He went left of center for an unknown reason, traveled off the left side of the roadway, struck a guardrail and went down an embankment. Bechtol was pronounced deceased at the scene. Bechtol  had a 8 year old and a 13 year old as passengers in his vehicle, which were transported to Mercer Health and later taken to another hospital for further treatment.
