Ohio State Highway Patrol Investigation Semi Rollover Crash in Van Wert County

 

Van Wert – The Van Wert Post of the Ohio State Highway Patrol is currently investigating a semi rollover crash on US127 at Wren Landeck Road, Liberty Township, at approximately 7:43 A.M. on September 12, 2024.

 

A 2024 Honda Civic, operated by Scott Rockhold, 53 years of age, of Urbana, was northbound on US127. Mr. Rockhold was slowing down to turn westbound onto Wren Landeck Road. A northbound 2008 Peterbilt semi, operated by Egues Leon Victor, age 32 of Bradenton, FL, failed to maintain an assured clear distance ahead. Mr. Victor swerved into the opposite lane of travel, striking the Honda Civic as it was in the process of turning. Mr. Victor’s semi went off the left side of the roadway, and overturned onto the roadway. Northbound and southbound lanes of US127 were completely obstructed, and the roadway was closed for approximately three hours. Both drivers sustained minor injuries. The crash remains under investigation at this time.

 

The Ohio State Highway Patrol was assisted on scene by the Van Wert County Sheriff’s Department, Ohio City Fire and EMS, Van Wert EMA, Hague Towing and Repair, and Straightline Towing, and the Ohio Department of Transportation. Van Wert Police Department and CERT assisted with traffic control.
