FIRST ENERGY S-E-C
THERE ARE NEW DEVELOPMENTS IN THE FIRST ENERGY BRIBERY SCHEME INCLUDING A NEW CIVIL PENALTY.
THE SECURITY EXCHANGE COMMISSION IS SUING FORMER FIRST ENERGY CEO CHUCK JONES AND, IN A SEPARATE MOVE, FIRST ENERGY WILL PAY ANOTHER $100 MILLION THIS TIME TO SETTLE CIVIL PENALTIES. THE S-E-C ACCUSES JONES OF ACTIVELY TAKING PART IN THE SCHEME TO BRIBE OHIO HOUSE SPEAKER LARRY HOUSEHOLDER TO HELP PASS HB 6. DURING THE THREE-YEAR SCHEME, JONES MADE $54,000,000 IN PAY THAT THE S-E-C SAYS WAS UNETHICALLY EARNED.
