At 1037 hours on August 13, 2024, The Celina Fire Department received a call from Mercer County Central Dispatch reporting a TV on fire in a home at 6987 Peach Tree Lane in Jefferson Township. Dispatch reported at that time that there was one person inside who was unable to evacuate the residence.
Celina Firefighters responded with four personnel, one engine and one ambulance, Mutual aid was requested of St. Marys City. St. Marys City responded with one engine and five firefighters. The occupant was quickly located and removed from the structure. She was then transported to JTDMH in critical condition.
Crews remaining on the scene were able to extinguish the fire. The house sustained minor fire damage, and heavy smoke damage.
Also assisting at the scene was the Mercer County Sherrif's Office and the Mercer County Dog Warden. The State Fire Marshalls office is assisting in the investigation and the investigation is ongoing
