Crown announces all operations resumed

NEW BREMEN, Ohio
(July 1, 2024) –
Crown Equipment, one of the world’s largest material handling
companies, today announced that it had resumed operations at all 24 of its global manufacturing plants.
The company’s manufacturing operations had been suspended since June 10 due to a cyberattack on its
business systems. The company’s retail sales and service operations and its office functions, which had
continued to operate while production was paused, have also returned to normal operations.

On June 19, Crown announced that it had experienced a cyberattack which they attributed to an
international cybercriminal organization. “Due to the security measures we had in place, the quick action
of our IT staff, and the support provided by some of the world’s leading cybersecurity experts, we were
able to quickly contain and address the issue,” said John Tate, senior vice president. “Our team has
accelerated the recovery process and is now focused on minimizing the attack’s effects on our
employees, customers and suppliers.”

Crown reiterated that they are continuing to work with federal law enforcement to further investigate the
matter. The company will continue to evolve its cybersecurity program, applying the knowledge gained
from this experience to further enhance prevention and mitigation efforts. Crown officials expressed their
appreciation for employees, customers, and suppliers as it worked to resolve the issue and resume
normal operations.
