Teen on electric skateboard hit by car

On May 30, 2024 just before 2:00AM the Celina Police Department investigated a serious injury traffic crash. Through the investigation officers found that 18 year old Chance Crouch of Celina was riding on an electric skateboard westbound on Myers Rd. approaching Queensbury Dr. He was wearing dark clothing and was not easily visible during hours of darkness.

At that time 20 year old Jaden Flores of Celina was driving a 2009 Honda Civic eastbound on Myer Rd and attempted to turn north onto Queensbury St. In doing so Flores inadvertently turned in front of Crouch and the two collided.

Chance Crouch was transported to a local hospital with life threatening injuries and the taken by helicopter to a Dayton area hospital. Flores was not injured. The crash remains under investigation.

The Celina Police Department would like to take this time to remind people that these non-licensed electric skateboards, scooters and similar toy vehicles are just that, toys. They are not designed for nor intended to be used on the roadways. They are dangerous and illegal for road use.
