FIRE DEPARTMENT TO CONDUCT HYDRANT FLOW TESTING

Beginning June 1st, the Wapakoneta Fire Department will be conducting flow tests of the fire hydrants in the sections of town that are located South of Auglaize and Middle St. And East of the CSX railroad tracks. The testing will continue throughout the month of June.

Residents are advised to test their water for discoloration before using. Any discoloration should only last for a few minutes and is a result of the water mains being disturbed by higher than normal flows.

The department conducts these tests in a selected area each year in order to maintain accurate records of available water in emergency situations. These results are also used by industry to calculate water supply for their sprinkler systems.

The patience and understanding of the affected residents are greatly appreciated. Anyone desiring more information is encouraged to contact the Fire Dept.
