Celina woman sentenced to 3.5 years in prison for drug overdose death

35 year old Megan Shelley of Celina has been sentenced to 3 and a half years in prison on charges of reckless homicide and aggravated possession of drugs. Shelley was sentenced this week in Mercer County Common Pleas Court. The sentencing came after a plea agreement. Shelley was originally charged with involuntary manslaughter, reckless homicide and drug trafficking charges and possession charges in connection with the death of 64 year old Pamela Lawson in 2020. According to the indictment, the drug involved was methamphetamine. Shelley also faces charges in Auglaize County in the March 2021 drug overdose death of 28 year old Jamie Dudgeon of St Marys. Shelly was indicted in Auglaize County on a 1st degree felony charge of involuntary manslaughter and a 4th degree felony charge of trafficking in fentanyl.
