OHIO COVID UPDATE


OHIO COVID UPDATE 

THE C-D-C's UPDATED COVID-19 MAP SHOWS THE CORONAVIRUS IS SPREADING IN OHIO. 
TWO COUNTIES IN SOUTHERN OHIO ARE LISTED AS HAVING HIGH TRANSMISSION RATES - LAWRENCE AND PIKE. LAST WEEK, THREE DIFFERENT COUNTIES IN SOUTHERN OHIO WERE IN THE HIGH CATEGORY - TWO OF THEM HAVE DROPPED TO MEDIUM AND THE OTHER IS BACK IN THE GREEN. BUT LAST WEEK THERE WERE JUST 17 COUNTIES IN ALL WITH MEDIUM TRANSMISSION - NOW THERE ARE 40, SPREAD ALL AROUND THE STATE. THE STATE HEALTH DEPARTMENT SAYS THERE ARE 753 PEOPLE HOSPITALIZED WITH COVID - DOWN SIX FROM A WEEK AGO. 79 PATIENTS ARE IN INTENSIVE CARE.

ADDITIONAL INFO: OHIO IS REPORTING 38,852 DEATHS OVERALL FROM THE CORONAVIRUS - THAT IS UP 195 OVER THE PAST THREE WEEKS. THE NEW YORK TIMES REPORTS THAT OHIO IS CURRENTLY AVERAGING 11 DEATHS PER DAY FROM COVID-19. SINCE JANUARY 1ST NEARLY 9,500 OHIOANS HAVE DIED OF COVID, BUT ONLY ABOUT 800 OF THOSE HAVE BEEN REPORTED IN THE PAST THREE MONTHS.
