ODNR CANINES

A GROUP OF SPECIALLY TRAINED CANINES NOW WORK WITH WILDLIFE OFFICERS TO PROTECT OHIO'S ANIMALS, BIG AND SMALL.  FINN, MATTIS AND MAY ARE TRAINED TO SNIFF OUT WILDLIFE - LIKE DEER, TURKEY AND EVEN FISH.  STATE WILDLIFE OFFICERS WITH THE OHIO DEPARTMENT OF NATURAL RESOURCES SAY THIS WILL HELP THEM MAKE SURE EVERYONE IS FOLLOWING OHIO LAWS.  THE CANINES CAN ALSO SNIFF OUT GUNPOWDER AND HELP FIND MISSING PEOPLE IN THE WOODS.  THEY ARE NOT TRAINED TO TAKE DOWN SUSPECTS LIKE A POLICE K-9.
