OHIO'S UNEMPLOYMENT RATE IS HIGHER THAN THE NATIONAL AVERAGE, AND HIGHER THAN MOST NEIGHBORING STATES


OHIO'S UNEMPLOYMENT RATE IS HIGHER THAN THE NATIONAL AVERAGE, AND HIGHER THAN MOST NEIGHBORING STATES.  THE BUCKEYE STATE'S JOBLESS RATE IS FIVE PERCENT. THE NATIONAL RATE IS 4.4. AMONG NEIGHBORING STATES ONLY KENTUCKY HAS A HIGHER UNEMPLOYMENT RATE THAN OHIO, AT 5.1 PERCENT. PENNSYLVANIA IS 4.9, WEST VIRGINIA 4.8, MICHIGAN 4.7 AND INDIANA IS T 3.6. A YEAR AGO OHIO'S RATE WAS THE SAME AS IT IS NOW – FIVE PERCENT. INDIANA'S HAS FALLEN MORE THAN A POINT DURING THAT TIME, FROM 4.7 TO 3.6.
