Indiana man is guilty in Rockford Dollar General Robbery

50 year old John Smead of New Haven, Indiana has pleaded no contest to a charge of aggravated robbery with weapons specification for his role in the armed robbery of Rockford's Dollar General in April of 2016. Smead will be sentenced March 8th in Mercer County Common Pleas Court. He faces over 10 years in prison. Smead's accomplice, 45 year old Edward Smith of Ft Wayne, is serving an 8 year prison sentence for his role in the crime. No one was injured in the incident.
